About The Tribute Mix Show
The Tribute Mix Show is a personal archive of DJ mixes dedicated to the artists and record labels that have shaped, influenced and inspired House music — and my own journey through it.
It started with a simple idea: to create mixes that focus entirely on the music of one artist or label. Not greatest-hits collections and not attempts to document complete catalogues, but personal selections made with respect for the music and the people behind it.
A lot of the music that means the most to me comes from the 1990s and 2000s. I have been listening to House music for many years, yet I am still discovering records from those decades that I have never heard before. I search through old catalogues almost every day, and there always seems to be another artist, another label or another record waiting to be found.
That endless process of discovery is one of the reasons The Tribute Mix Show still exists.
And I want to share those discoveries.
You do not need to know the history of House music or recognise every name in this archive. If a mix introduces you to an artist you did not know, sends you searching through a label’s catalogue or simply makes you curious about a sound you have never explored before, then the project has done something worthwhile.
Some tributes are dedicated to artists and labels I discovered in record shops many years ago. Others are the result of discoveries made much later. Age alone does not make something worthy of a tribute.
A tribute is about influence, inspiration and respect.
Over time, the project has grown into an archive covering many different sides of House music — from Deep House and Tech House to the sounds of Chicago, Detroit, the UK, France, the US West Coast and beyond. There are occasional journeys into Techno and Disco as well.
Many of the mixes are mine, while others have been contributed by DJs who share the same idea. The contributor may change, but the focus remains the same:
the artist, the label and the music.
There is no ranking here and no attempt to define what is objectively good or important. Music is personal, and every selection in this archive ultimately reflects personal taste.
But after many years of listening, collecting, playing and searching for music, these are records, artists and labels that I believe are worth hearing.
Think of the archive a little like digging through records in a shop.
Start somewhere. Follow whatever catches your attention. One artist might lead you to a label. One label might introduce you to another sound. And one record might open the door to something you did not know existed.
That is how I have always discovered music.
And that is what I hope The Tribute Mix Show can pass on.
Let the music speak for itself.
